Twisters, the long-awaited sequel to the 1996 disaster thriller Twister, is set to hit theaters on July 19, 2023. The film features an exciting new cast, including NOPE's Brandon Perea, Sasha Lane from American Honey, Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), and Academy Award winner Helen Hunt.
The trailer for Twisters teases thrilling action sequences and groundbreaking special effects. It follows the story of a group of storm chasers led by Dr. Jo Thornton-Harding (Hunt), who risk their lives to advance weather alert technology. As a child, Jo witnessed her father's tragic death during a tornado, leaving her with a relentless pursuit to better forecast and protect against these devastating natural disasters.
Original Cast Returns
While the focus of Twisters is on the new characters, fans will be delighted to hear that several original cast members are returning. Bill Paxton and Cary Elwes will reprise their roles as storm chasers Bill Harding and Dusty Davies, respectively. Jan de Bont, the director of the original film, will serve as a producer on the sequel.
