How to Draw for Beginners: A Step-by-Step Guide
32. Mark Where the Main Elements Will Go
When you're starting out, it can be helpful to mark where the main elements of your drawing will go. This will help you to keep your proportions correct and to ensure that your drawing has a balanced composition.
To do this, simply use a light pencil to sketch in the basic shapes of the objects you want to draw. Don't worry about making these shapes perfect at this point, just focus on getting the general proportions right.
Once you have the main elements in place, you can start to add details and shading. As you work, keep referring back to your original sketch to make sure that your proportions are still correct.
